At present we do not know a lot about Brother Edward Sheringham.
Temple Lodge, No.33 records show that Edward D’Urban Sheringham , age 46, occupation: Retired Cattle Rancher, made a Petition for Initiation which was received at the Regular Lodge meeting of 14 November 1916 and the following Investigating Committee appointed: R.W. Bro. Thomas Pitt, Brothers George H. Savage and W.L. Dunn.
His application was balloted on and he was duly elected a member of Temple Lodge, No. 33 by Initiation. He demitted from Temple Lodge, No. 33 in 1923 and, in that same year, became a founding member of Malahat Lodge, U.D. in Mill Bay. Brother Sheringham was a Charter Member of Malahat Lodge, No 107, when Malahat Lodge, No, 107 received its Charter in June 1924.

....Petition from Mr. Edward D’Urban Sheringham for membership by initiation. The petitioner states that he was born at Melton Constable, England on 1 March, 1870; his age is 46 years; his occupation Retired Cattle Rancher, and his residence Mill Bay, Cobble Hill P.O., B.C.; he is recommended for membership by Bros. George Frayne and F.C. Morris. Moved by Bro. Senior Warden James Grieg and seconded by Bro. Senior Deacon Geo. H. Savage that the petition be received and the usual investigating committee appointed. Carried. The Wor. Master appointed as such committee R. Wor. Bro. Thos. Pitt, Bro. Senior Deacon Geo. H. Savage and Bro. W.L. Dunn....."
